Summer/Winter Financial Aid

Summer financial aid is available to students who enroll in the summer term, meet the eligibility criteria, and have a FAFSA on file for the current academic year. Please note that the offered awards are contingent upon enrollment in six (6) or more credit hours. Awards may consist of federal Stafford loans*, federal Graduate PLUS loans, and federal work-study. Packaging is an automatic process that does not require a separate application and begins no earlier than April.

Exchange Program: Once approved for the summer exchange program, you must complete a Student Review Form and provide supporting documentation for additional expenses (e.g., transportation and housing). Award eligiblity is based upon enrollment in six (6) or more credit hours for the summer term, meeting the eligiblity criteria, and having a FAFSA on file for the current academic year. Please submit the completed form to the Office of Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Life, room 119.

Federal Work-Study (FWS): Eligiblity for FWS is determined by enrollment in one (1) or more credit hours, meeting eligibility criteria, and having a FAFSA on file for the current academic year. if you are awarded FWS for the summer, you will need to apply for and be hired in a FWS job to receive funds. If you will not enroll in summer classes, you must have a completed FAFSA for the current, as well as, the next academic year on file. Your FWS earnings during this time of non-enrollment will be considered a resource for the next enrollment period, which could affect your financial need for the following year.

Study Abroad: Once approved for and admitted to a study abroad program offered through another law school, to be considered for summer aid you must complete a Consortium Agreement. Award eligbility is based upon enrollment in six (6) ore more credit hours for the summer term, meeting the eligbility criteria, and having a FAFSA on file for the current academic year. Please submit the completed form to the Office of Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Life, room 119.
