Review process

Admissions to the MSLB Program operate on a rolling basis, which means applications will be reviewed as they are received and spots will be filled. For example, spots may be full on June 13, even if the application remains open.

Applicants will not hear from the SLB admissions team between Dec. 16, 2023 and Jan. 7, 2024 and from April 8 to April 2021, 2024. The admissions team has several waitlist review periods.

The SLB admissions team aims to review a completed application within 20 business days. You will receive one of three decisions: an offer to interview, a waitlist offer or a denial of admission.

If you receive an offer to interview, a decision on your status will follow within 20 business days from the interview date.

The committee may move faster or slower depending on the number of applications received or the time of year. Please contact the team with any questions.

Video submission guidelines

In addition to the online application and required documents, all MSLB applicants will need to upload a video submission or elevator pitch. An elevator pitch is a brief, persuasive speech that sparks interest in an organization, project or an idea.

The requirements for the video submissions are:

  1. Videos can be no longer than 1 minute and 40 seconds. Failure to adhere to this direction may result in a delay in reviewing the application. Applicants may only submit one video. If the incorrect video was attached to the application, applicants can email mslbasu@asu.edu to send the correct video to the admissions team. This may result in a delay in application review, so please be sure to attach the correct video before submitting.
  2. Inappropriate content will not be reviewed. Videos that do not abide by the standards and character of ASU, ASU Law and the SLP Program will not be considered.
  3. The MSLB Program wants applicants to use creativity but be professional when creating their elevator pitch. The video should show the admissions team who the applicant is and why they should be accepted into the program.
  4. All submitted videos should be well-lit and easy to hear. Please avoid filming in areas that are too dark or have substantial background noise. Have fun with this pitch! We want to see your personality.
  5. All video submissions must be uploaded under the Mandatory Attachments section under Supplemental Statements in the online application. All videos should be .mov or .mp4 files.
