Letters of Recommendation

Letters of recommendation evaluate the candidate’s prospects for success in law school and in the legal profession. The most helpful letters of recommendation are those that address the candidate’s strength of character, academic background, analytical abilities, and communication skills.

Each applicant may submit no more than two letters of recommendation. Although not required, they are strongly encouraged.

To ensure letters of recommendation are considered during the application review process, submit them directly to LSAC for inclusion in the applicant’s Credential Assembly Service (CAS) report. They must be on file with LSAC when the application is submitted. ASU Law will not wait to complete an applicant's file for review if their letters of recommendation are not included when the electronic application and CAS report are transmitted.

Please visit LSAC's CAS to learn more.
