ASU Law’s Office of Career and Employment Services receives 2024 All In For Women Award for summer law clerk program
The 1L Diversity Summer Law Clerk Program at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University received the 2024 All In For Women Award presented by the Maricopa Chapter of the Arizona Women’s Lawyers Association (AWLA).
During a ceremony on September 26, members of ASU Law’s career and employment services were presented with the award by Court of Appeals Division One Judge David Gass. AWLA’s mission is to promote and encourage the success of women lawyers throughout the state of Arizona by recognizing the efforts of law firms and legal departments of all sizes.
The career services department and its summer law clerk program were among six recipients recognized for encouraging the success of women lawyers.
“The career services department is grateful to receive this award from Arizona Women Lawyers Association, which recognizes a commitment to fostering opportunities for students in underrepresented communities in the legal industry,” explained Trevi Grant, ASU Law Assistant Dean of Student Career Success and Employer Relations. “Supporting inclusion is important to ASU Law because it enriches our legal community and enhances the pursuit of justice.”
The 1L Diversity Summer Law Clerk Program gives first year law students, who self-identify as diverse, an opportunity to get hands-on legal experience, while supervised by a licensed lawyer. Students who participate are given a stipend for their work and get to participate in the program for a minimum of six weeks. Overall the program fosters a pathway for diverse 1L students to gain meaningful legal experience that will prepare them for future opportunities.
