Richard Borden chose to study health care compliance and regulations at the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation, a program that prepares students to take the Certification in Health Care Compliance exam. Now he’s working toward another goal: earning a master’s degree at ASU Law and continuing to put himself in a position to pursue a compliance role in the future.

ASU Law welcomed its newest JD, LLM and master’s students during fall 2026 orientation with a message of belonging, community and purpose. As students begin their legal education through different paths and with varied goals, they are also joining the college during a milestone year that celebrates ASU Law’s legacy while looking toward the future they will help shape.
New identity better reflects the organization’s commitment to strengthening the position of Tribal Nations in law and policy.
