Spring Alumni News

Find out what some of ASU Law's alums are up to this spring.

Sherman & Howard welcomed nine new attorneys, including two ASU Law alumni, to its Phoenix and Denver offices. They include Nasir Ahmed (JD ‘23) and Emily Girkins (JD ‘23). Ahmed works in the litigation practice group and Girkins in labor and employment law, both in Phoenix.

Dylan Reynolds (JD ‘23) is a new attorney advisor with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She says the experiential learning opportunities at ASU Law, like joining the Lisa Foundation Patent Law Clinic, prepared her for her career in trademark law.

Rose Law Group, the Scottsdale-based firm founded by ASU Law alum Jordan Rose (JD ‘96), has expanded its artificial intelligence practice with the addition of its Intellectual Property Department. Paul Coble (JD ‘08), a technology attorney, was hired to chair the department.

Jones, Skelton & Hochuli named four new partners in January, and three of them are ASU Law alums. Congratulations to Elizabeth B.N. Garcia (JD ‘14), David Onuschak (JD ‘16) and Christopher Brown (JD ‘17) on this achievement.

ILP alum Cierra Moore (JD ‘22) started a new position as a prosecutor at the Navajo Nation Office of the Prosecutor - Major Crimes Unit. 

SLB alum Alexander Castillo (MSLB ‘23) was hired by the U.S. Soccer Federation as a Network Administrator for Youth National Teams. 

Grant Anders (MSLB ‘19) was has a new position as the Baltimore Orioles' Major League Development Coach. He was promoted to the position from Major League Player Development Analyst.

Kylie E. McNamara (JD ‘23) joined Jones Walker’s New Orleans practice as an associate in the Corporate Practice Group.

The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University is pleased to announce that Gene Smith, nationally respected collegiate athletics leader and former ASU Director of Athletics, will serve as the Fall 2025 convocation speaker.

As a compliance consultant for the University of Arizona, Kelly Mannes loved the work — the problem-solving, the human dynamics and the opportunity to support people and processes behind the scenes — but she wanted to understand it on a deeper level. That motivation led her to the Master of Human Resources and Employment Law program at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where her coursework didn’t just introduce new concepts; it reshaped how she thinks, communicates and shows up in her professional life.
